Roselyn V. Peterson, age 81, of rural Cannon Falls, died Wednesday evening, March 29, 2017 at her home.
Roselyn Vivian Peterson was born on June 5, 1935 in Bemidji, MN, the daughter of Richard and Edna Secord. They moved to St. Paul when Rose was 5 years old. She grew up and went to school there, graduating from Washington High School in 1953. She worked for a short time as a teller for TCF Bank. On January 18, 1958 Rose was united in marriage to Harold Peterson at North Emanuel Lutheran Church in St. Paul. They farmed together and raised their family East of Cannon Falls. Rose was a member of Vasa Lutheran Church where she was a past president of the LCW, and was active in the Women's Bible Study. She was involved with the Cloverdale Project through the County Extension. Rose belonged to a card club, enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and sewing. In later years she liked travelling with her husband, and going on bus tours.
Survivors include her husband Harold, son Chuck Peterson, daughter Sheri (Dan Ruffelle) Peterson, grandchildren Angie, Brandon, and Brittany; 10 great-grandchildren; sister Donna (Curt) Hintz; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorials may be directed to the Vasa Lutheran Church, the Vasa Museum, or to the donor's choice.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the Vasa Lutheran Church. Interment will be in the Vasa Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8:00 pm, Friday, March 31, 2017 at the Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
