Ruby N. Sauter, age 93, of Cannon Falls, died Monday, October 7, 2019 at her home.
Ruby Goodvin Sauter was born on May 26, 1926, to Ernest and Luvina Goodvin at rural Nerstrand, MN. She attended rural school in Rice County, high school in Kenyon, and graduated from Winona State University. Ruby married John Sauter on Sept. 10, 1946. She was an Elementary Education Teacher for 33 years.
Ruby enjoyed fishing, flower gardening, cooking, and caring for her family. She also enjoyed making braided rugs. She has been a member of Spring Garden Lutheran Church since 1949. She also sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, led the cherub choir, and was an officer of the Willing Workers.
Ruby leaves behind her children Mark (Roxanne) Sauter and LuAnn (Rich) Roiger; grandchildren Joshua (Katie) Sauter, Jarrod (Christine Walker) Stoudt, Cassandra (Jacob) Anderson, and Carrie (Amado Martinez) Sauter; step-grandchildren Ryan (Tara) Roiger, RaeKell (Andrew) Lambert, and Regin (Amber) Roiger; as well as 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband John, parents Ernest and Luvina,, one step great-grandchild, sister Darlyne Giefer, and brother Gerald Goodvin. Memorials are preferred to the Spring Garden Lutheran Church in lieu of flowers.
Memorial services will be on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at Spring Garden Lutheran Church, 10239 Co. 1 Blvd, Cannon Falls, MN 55009, at 2:00 pm. There will be a visitation prior to the service at the church from 1-2:00 pm. Lundberg Funeral Home of Cannon Falls is assisting the family.
