Violet E. Lorenson
Violet Evelyn Hemmah Lorenson, age 88, of Cannon Falls, died on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at the Kenyon Sunset Home in Kenyon.
Violet was born on December 18, 1930 at home on the farm in Sisseton, SD, the daughter of Robert and Evelyn (Jordahl) Hemmah. She had a twin brother, Vern. Violet graduated from Cannon Falls High School. During high school she worked at the sweet[IL1] shop. Violet married Dale Lorenson August 20, 1949 at First English Lutheran Church. She worked at National Tea, Hjermsted Hardware, Lea’s Ready-to-wear, and Dr. John E. Holte, Cannon Eye Clinic. Violet loved spending time with family, travelling, and camping. She was a member of St. Ansgar’s Lutheran Church, where she was active in the Elizabeth Circle; and was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dale, daughter Pam (Steve) Reinke, daughter Janet and son Richard, both in infancy, as well as brothers Merlan, Vern, and Donald. Survivors include daughter Sandra (Dave) Grzywinski; grandchildren Jeremy (Sara) Reinke, Jennifer (Jim) Novek; great-grandchildren Shelby Quade, Jonathan Quade, Jamie Reinke, Drew Reinke, and Karly Reinke.
Memorials are preferred to St. Ansgar’s Lutheran Church or the donor’s choice.
Funeral services will be on Friday, June 28, 2019 at 11:00 am, at St. Ansgar’s Lutheran Church, 7459 Hwy 19 Blvd, Cannon Falls, MN 55009. There will be a visitation on Thursday June 27, 2019 from 5-7:00 pm, at Lundberg Funeral Home, 5839 Hwy 19 Blvd, Cannon Falls, MN 55009. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Friday. Interment will be in the Cannon Falls Cemetery at a later time.
