Alice Groth

Alice Marie Groth, age 98, of Cannon Falls, died on Saturday afternoon, July 6, 2024 at the Northfield Hospital.

Alice was born on October 6, 1925 in Eagan, the daughter of Frank and Emma (Lehmann) Jennrich. She attended District #13 in Eagan through the 8th grade and graduated from Rosemount High School in 1943.

She married Henry "Heinie" Groth on June 22, 1946, and they made their home on the family farm in Rosemount. She was a true homemaker and farm wife. She made every home they lived in beautiful with her gardens and home decorating.

Alice loved gardening, crafting, and spending time with her grandchildren, and especially her great-grandchildren! Her church was very important to her. She was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Rich Valley, where she served for years on the altar guild and led quilting bees for a number of years.

She was preceded in death by husband, Heinie in June, 2009; son, Dennis; great-grandson, Jacob; and siblings, Margaret Hause and Arthur "Bud" Jennrich.

She is survived by sons, Jerry and Wayne (Sheila); 3 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church of Rich Valley, 14385 Blaine Ave E, Rosemount on Wednesday, July 10, at 11:00 am, with visitation from 10-11 am. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.

Active casket bearers will be her great-grandchildren, Tyler and Paige Luitjens, Erich and Katherine Groth, Amber Groth, Annabelle Groth, Henry Groth, Rylee Groth, Aubree Hanson, Nolan Hanson, and Jaxson Hanson.

Memorials may be given to St. John's Lutheran Church - Alice Groth Memorial Fund.
