Ardell Janice Youngberg was born on August 12, 1942 in Waseca, the daughter of Melford and Doris (Johnson) Youngberg. She attended New Richland High School and was thankful to grow up in a rural community. She still referred to their family farm as "down home." She moved with her family from their New Richland farm to Minneapolis in 1956. She graduated with honors from Minnehaha Academy in 1960. After several semesters at North Central and Evangel Universities, she served in administrative positions with Assembly of God churches in California, Texas, Illinois and Brussels, Belgium. She retired from US Bank and Trust, where she worked in the Trust Department.
On August 20, 2020, she married Jim Olson and traveled with him as they volunteered their time with MAPS, an Assembly of God missions organization. They spent four winters traveling in their RV to Florida, doing mission work. They resided on Lake Byllesby until their move to Cannon River Senior Living in Cannon Falls. She enjoyed traveling, fishing, playing games, collecting nativity sets, and anything strawberry.
Ardell went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 12, 2026 at the age of 83 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Donna Schauer.
She is survived by her husband, Jim; sisters, Marlys (Wes) Marks and Judy Mitchell; Jim's children, Tom (Debbie) Olson and Sue (Aaron) Topp; grandchildren, Dylan Olson, and Lexy (Timmy) Newby; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
