Arlan Burnett Niebeling, age 80 of Cannon Falls, died on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at The Gardens at Cannon Falls.
Arlan was born on October 18, 1937 in Ada, MN, the son of Ralph and Viola (Nelson) Niebeling. He grew up and schooled in Ada, graduating from Ada High School in 1955. He then attended Bottineau College in Bottineau, ND. Since his youth, Arlan has built and flown model airplanes and has always been active in flying clubs, mainly in Bismarck, ND.
He had been employed for 32 years with the telephone company in the Bell System. He was an active member of First English Lutheran Church, and of the Cannon Falls Lions Club.
Arlan was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dennis, and grandson Christian.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Kathleen (Hermanson) Niebeling; four children, Darcy Alan of Moorhead, Joni (Tom) Hoffer of Minot, ND, Brian of Bangkok, Thailand, and Lori (Michael) Snyder of St. Louis Park; 5 grandchildren and 4 step grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mazie Niebeling of Little Canada; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation from 10-11 a.m., at First English Lutheran Church, 511 W. Belle St., Cannon Falls.
Memorials are preferred to First English Lutheran Church.
