Avenelle Maria Scobie, age 98 of Cannon Falls, died on Monday evening, December 9, 2013 at Angels Care Center in Cannon Falls. Avenelle was born on August 25, 1915 in Indiana. She was married to Russell S. Scobie. She enjoyed reading and cooking, and was a proud mother of her US Navy son. She was a former American Legion Auxiliary member in Rosemount, where she served as past president. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Russell in 1982; and brother, James Messer. She is survived by her son, James Scobie of Hastings. No services will be held.
