Carol Ann Kasal, age 69 of Cannon Falls, MN died peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 21, 2017.

Carol was born on September 6, 1948 in Glencoe, MN, the daughter of Oliver and Lorraine (Dickmeyer) Leistico.  She graduated from Stewart High School in Stewart, MN in 1966. She attended the Medical Institute of Minnesota, where she began her career as a Medical Laboratory Technician.  For most of her career, she worked with the State of Minnesota at Oak Park Heights Correctional Facility. For the last years of employment, she worked at the Apple Valley Medical Clinic, and was a life insurance health examiner where she continued her love for medicine and people.

Carol married Paul A. Kasal on October 18, 1969 in Stewart, MN. Their life together was full of traveling, water skiing, pontoon rides, gardening, and enjoying friends. She always showed care and compassion and never held judgement against others. Carol was positive, graceful, welcoming, and genuinely interested in other’s lives. She will be remembered for her love of family (especially her 5 grandsons,) and her love for entertaining family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, Paul; her loving children, Steve (Tera) Kasal and their three children, Max, Evan and Zack, of Lakeville, John Kasal of St. Paul, and Julie (William) Sheridan and their two children, Nathan and Henry, of Cannon Falls; brothers and sisters, Richard (Kathy) Leistico of Stillwater, Linda (Brad) Fulkerson of New Ulm, Tina (Don) Gonsior of Lakeville, and Robert “Bob” Leistico of Savage; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 26 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Lundberg Funeral Home, Cannon Falls, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, November 27 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation from 10 to 11 a.m., at St. Pius V Catholic Church, Cannon Falls.  Interment will follow at Lakeside Cemetery, Randolph, MN.

Pallbearers will be Don Gonsior, Christopher Kasal, George Gonsior, Adam Leistico, William Kasal, and Cole Bledsoe.
