Dale Niesen

Dale Jerome Niesen, age 59 of Cannon Falls, passed away peacefully at a friend's home on Thursday morning, January 24, 2013. Dale was born at home on July 3, 1953 in Douglas Township, the son of Leonard M. and Florence E. (Case) Niesen. He graduated from Cannon Falls High School in 1971 and went on to do custom farming for area farmers. Most recently, he was employed in maintenance at Angels Care Center in Cannon Falls. Dale was devoted to his friends, and truly enjoyed spending time with them, whether it was at work or just around town. He also enjoyed playing in the annual New Years horseshoe tourney. He had a soft spot in his heart for his mother, and for his animals, especially Squeek, Sigfried, and Ajax. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his brother, John (Rita) Niesen of Ellsworth, WI; sister, Nancy Cohn of Florida; nephews and niece, Chris (Jee) Niesen, Courtney Niesen, and Scott Aase; two great-nephews; special friend, Kathy Gerbracht of Cannon Falls, special cousins, Ray and Peg Bohn of Eagan; and other relatives and many friends. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 27 at 2:00 p.m. at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls, with Pastor Barbara Martin officiating. Spring interment will take place at Cannon River Lutheran Cemetery.
