Dale Pagel

Dale Pagel, age 66 of Aitkin, formerly of Cannon Falls passed away in her sleep on May 16, 2013. She was born on October 21, 1946 in St. Paul, MN to the parents Kenneth and Evelyn (Staples) Swanson. Dale grew up and graduated from the Cannon Falls High School in 1965. After graduating, she got a job at Kid Duds, where she worked for many years. Dale was united in marriage to her sweetheart, Dennis Leland Pagel on September 4, 1965. After Dennis came back from Vietnam, they adopted three children, Dan, David and Denise. In 1998, they moved to Aitkin, MN where she worked as a nurse's aide and physical therapist assistant at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center, retiring in 2010. She continued her love of helping others through her volunteer work at Bethlehem Lutheran Church and the First English Lutheran Food Shelf. In her retired life, she also enjoyed fishing and couldn't get Dennis in the boat fast enough. Dale Pagel is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, all her kids (Daniel (Melod) Pagel of S. Korea, David (AhJin) Pagel of San Diego, CA and Denise (Jack) Reyes of Farmington, MN), all seven grandchildren (Grace, Joseph, John, Marcus, Justin, Calvin and Alex), 3 sisters (Toni (Ray) Otto, Mike (Richard) Gehrke, Kathy (Richard) Shorter), 2 brothers (Henry (Sue) Swanson, Arthur (Ellen) Swanson), and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, especially Clinton Otto.

A private family celebration of her life and death will be held in Cannon Falls at a later date. The family prefers memorials to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 36696 320th St, Aitkin, MN 56431.
