Dan Fennern

Daniel Lloyd Fennern, 56, of Cannon Falls, Minnesota passed away peacefully on Friday, April 13, 2018, in his home surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on May 23, 1961 in Redwood Falls, Minnesota, to Lloyd and Barbara (Jensen) Fennern. He graduated from Wabasso High School and Mankato Technical Institute. Dan met and married the love of his life, Janet Tietz, of Walnut Grove, Minnesota on September 1, 1984. They moved to Cannon Falls, where Dan was employed at the local John Deere dealership as a diesel mechanic for 28 years. He was devoted to his family and loved spending time with them, especially on one of the many cross-country trips taken in the family motorhome. Dan also enjoyed the outdoors in all seasons - camping, fishing, hiking, and snowmobiling were among his favorites. He had a technical aptitude, able to fix or “McGyver” just about anything. In spite of the many health challenges he faced throughout his life, Dan was strong in his Christian faith and lived without fear. He carved out an amazing life for himself and lived each day to the fullest.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Jan, children Brittany (Jacob) Filkins and Colin (Alexa) Fennern, grandson Daniel Filkins, parents Lloyd (Gloria) Fennern and Barbara (Bob) Forster, and many siblings, nieces and nephews. Dan was preceded in death by his son Andrew Daniel Fennern in infancy, grandparents,  his mother-in-law and father-in-law.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, Friday, April 20, 2018, at Riverwood Community Church, 5343 Highway 19 Blvd., Cannon Falls, MN  55009. Visitation will be from 4-7:00 pm on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at the Lundberg Funeral Home, 5839 Highway 19 Blvd., Cannon Falls, MN 55009. The visitation will continue at the church on Friday, from 10-11:00 am. Interment will be in the Cannon Falls Cemetery.
