David Engelmann

David A. Engelmann, age 86, of Cannon Falls and formerly of Maplewood, died on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at the Mayo Clinic Health System, Red Wing.

David was born on October 7, 1931 in St. Paul, the son of David and Cora (Kirchner) Engelmann. He grew up in South St. Paul and went to school there. He served in the US Navy as a Seaman First Class from 1948-1952, during the Korean Conflict. On April 10, 1954 David was united in marriage to Iola Lindquist. He worked for over 44 years in various capacities for the 3M Company. David was a former Chief Steward for the Local 75 Union.

Survivors include his wife Iola; children Kim McKnight, Kirk Engelmann, and Elaine Asmus; grandchildren Nicholas McKnight, Katie Galloway, Karla Hoffpauir, and Hayden Asmus; three great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Eadie, sister Cleo, and brother John.

Memorial services for David will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the Lundberg Funeral Home, 5839 Highway 19 Blvd., Cannon Falls, MN 55009. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service, also at Lundberg Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Wildwood Cemetery in Wheaton, MN, at a later date.

Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
