Delma Ruth Berg, age 91 of Cannon Falls, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 11, 2019 at Three Links Care Center in Northfield.
Delma was born January 15, 1928 in the parsonage at Spring Garden Lutheran Church. She lived in the Spring Garden area in her youth, White Rock all of her married life, and Cannon Falls during her high school years and upon retirement. She graduated from Cannon Falls High School in 1946 and went on to study at the Franklin School of Nursing in Minneapolis. She worked as an LPN at Mineral Springs Sanitorium in rural Cannon Falls, Cannon Falls Hospital, and St. John’s Hospital in Red Wing. She also worked briefly at Kid Duds, and for many years, a floral designer at the Cannon Falls Greenhouse. In June of 1948, Delma was united in marriage to Silas Berg and enjoyed 48 years of marriage. She was an active member of Spring Garden Lutheran Church, participated in Ladies Aid, and especially enjoyed decorating the church at Christmas. Delma was an avid gardener and talented seamstress. She was very kind and loved her family and friends deeply.
Survivors include her children, Tom Berg of Owatonna, Beverly Harding of Scottsdale, AZ, Brenda Berg Rapp of Cannon Falls, and Laurel Holland of Eden Prairie; grandchildren, Karen Berg, Kevin Berg, Heather Joy, John Klitzke, Alexa Rapp, Morgan Rapp and wife Tiegan, Chloe Murphy and husband Mac, and Colton Winkelman; great-grandchildren, Von Strong, Violet Rapp, and Dagny Rapp; and many nieces and nephews. Delma was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Mildred Larson; husband, Silas; brothers, Earl and Roger Larson; and sister, Sarah Wiggins.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, December 27, 2019 at 11:00am, with visitation from 10-11am, at Spring Garden Lutheran Church, 10239 Co 1 Blvd, Cannon Falls, MN 55009. Interment will be in Spring Garden Cemetery.
