Delores Rechtzigel

Delores Anna Clara (Spillman) Rechtzigel, age 92 of Cannon Falls, died peacefully at her home at Cannon Rivers Senior Living on Wednesday morning, January 24, 2024.

Delores was born on May 25, 1931 in Farmington, MN, the daughter of Frederick and Anna (Polzin) Spillman. She went to District 63 country school in the Randolph area for 7 years and graduated from Randolph High School.

Delores married Arthur "Art" Rechtzigel on December 17, 1949 at First English Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls, and they raised six children.

Delores was  a homemaker and kept a spotlessly clean home. She loved growing flowers, canning, baking, quilting, dancing and listening to old time music, and playing 500.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Art; son, Ron; son-in-law, Fred Holte; grandchildren, Jessi Fritz and Brock Rechtzigel; and brothers, Allen (Violet) Spillman and Walton (Betty) Spillman.

She is survived by her children, Bonnie Holte of Harris, Dennis (Patty) of Red Wing, Doug (Jan) and Randy (Ann), all of Cannon Falls, and Brenda (Jack) Rechtzigel-Ables of Zumbrota; daughter-in-law, Cindy of Cannon Falls; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 28 at 2:00 pm, with visitation from 12 pm - 2 pm, at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, Cannon Falls. This funeral will be live-streamed and available to watch below. Interment will follow at the Cannon Falls Cemetery, along with a lunch at church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Paul's Church or donor's choice.

Active pallbearers will be grandsons, Justin, Connor, Logan, Nolan, and Matthew Rechtzigel, and Jon Holte.
