Dolores Buck

Dolores G. Buck, age 84 retired dairy farmer of Goodhue, died unexpectedly, but peacefully at home. She joined her beloved husband in heaven on their wedding anniversary, September 23.

Dolores Genevieve was born on March 30, 1933 in Mazeppa, MN, the daughter of Peter and Theresa (Tri) Perrotti. She grew up in Mazeppa, graduating as Salutatorian from Mazeppa High School in 1951. She was employed at First National Bank, Rochester and later Peoples State Bank, Mazeppa until marrying Arville A. Buck on September 23, 1953. They farmed together in Goodhue Township until his death on December 2, 1975.  Dolores continued dairy farming until her retirement.  After 62 years on the farm, she moved to Goodhue one month ago.  Dolores was an active member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Goodhue where she had served on the church council, was a preschool teacher, and helped decorate for the seasons. She was a past leader of the Goodhue Gesundheits 4-H Club. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Belle Creek Homemakers, and of the Goodhue Lioness Club. She volunteered her time with various community events over the years. Dolores enjoyed music and was involved with the Vocalaires and No-Notes and enjoyed entertaining as a clown for many years.

Dolores was an avid gardener, lefse, gritwurst and blackberry jelly maker.  She canned and made many loaves of bread and other goodies. She loved her family, and enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who lovingly referred to her as “Grandma Buckets”.

She is survived by her children, Teresa Buck of Pine Island, David (Ann) Buck of Goodhue, Diane Buck of Boyceville, WI, Dennis (Ruth) Buck of Goodhue, Mary (Curtis) Oeltjenbruns of West Concord, and Lori (Mike) Boesl of Boyceville, WI; 22 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, with one on the way; sister, Mary (Bob) Heppelmann of Bellechester; brother-in-law, Marlyn Lexvold of Aurora, CO; sister-in-law, Sue Perrotti of Lake City; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arville; son, Paul; great- granddaughter, Autumn Buck; sisters, Cecilia (Leonard) Krier, Lorraine (Leo) Liffrig, and Anita (LuVerne) Bartholome; and brothers, Anthony (Justine), Cletus, and Donald Perrotti; and sister-in-law, Lorraine Lexvold.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 27 from 4-8 p.m., with Catholic Daughters rosary service at 3:45 p.m., at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Goodhue.  Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, Sept. 28 at 10:30 a.m., with visitation from 9:30-10:30 a.m., at Holy Trinity. Interment will follow at St. Columbkill/Holy Trinity Cemetery, Belle Creek following a final processional trip past the family home farm. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.

Active pallbearers will be grandsons, Chris Buck, Brian Buck, Paul Boesl, Austin Buck, Buck Oeltjenbruns, D.J. Buck, and Taylor Buck.

Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren, Shannon Stewart, Amanda Bruns, Alicia,  Kaitlyn, Kennedy, Brooke, and Justin Buck, Lee Oeltjenbruns, JoLynn Hovde, Elyse Baker, and Brady  Oeltjenbruns, Elizabeth, Michaela, Anna, and Nathan Boesl, and great-grandchildren, Alyssa Herman, Joseph and Jack Buck, Zoe, Hudson, Avery, and Harper Stewart, Cameron, Isabelle, Brooke, Lucas, and Larson Bruns, Macy and Wyatt Buck.
