Edna L. Ward, age 95 of Cannon Falls and formerly of Belle Creek Township, died on Saturday morning, November 22, 2008 at the Angels Care Center in Cannon Falls.

Edna was born on February 7, 1913 in Belle Creek Township, the daughter of Peter and Mary (Haggstrom) Carlson. She attended country school through the 11th grade. She would marry Harold Ward on December 31, 1941. Edna and Harold would spend their life farming in Belle Creek Township. She was a member of Spring Garden Lutheran Church.

Edna is lovingly survived by her sisters-in-law, Gwen (Robert) Carlson-Olson and Lorraine Forsman; nephew, Marshall Carlson and niece, Myra Beth Loven; and many other nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold on May 14, 1994; sister and brother-in-law, Verna and Leonard Anderson; her brothers, Roland and Paul M. Carlson; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bob and Gerri Ward, and Scottie and Beatrice Ward.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 26 at 11 a.m. at the Spring Garden Lutheran Church, with Pastors Nick and Cindy Fisher-Broin officiating. There will be visitation one hour prior to the service at church.

Interment will follow a luncheon at the Cannon Falls Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be Jeffrey Wiskow, Robin Roper, LeRoy Dahling, Dick Forsell and Tom Ekblad. Honorary casketbearers will be Harvey O'Neill, Ted Arndt and Milton Mandelkow.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Spring Garden Lutheran Church or the Goodhue County Humane Society.
