George C. Wilson passed away on October 8, 2023 at his home in Cannon Falls, MN George was born in Caputa, SD to Hattie and Cornelius Wilson April 1, 1937.

He graduated from Miller High School in 1955 and continued his education at the National College of Business in Rapid City, SD. His business career started in 1956 when he accepted a position at All American Transport in Huron, SD. In 1969 he purchased the first of many companies; Carpenter Transfer which later became Wilson Refrigerated Express. To grow the company he pursued a partnership with Lawrence Transportation.  The refrigerated trucking business lead to the purchase of CoolStor Warehouse Services. The value that George brought to these business ventures was always based on relationships. He was a connector and a helper. His business acumen and relationships offered many synergies within his businesses; Lawrence Transportation, CoolStor, Clarey’s Safety Equipment and several other companies that with which he had interest.  In 1960 he married Grace LeGrand. They had four daughters. In 1983 he married Judy DeBlieck and gained another daughter.

Outside of growing businesses and offering words of advice to many young entrepreneurs he loved spending time with family and friends on Lake Byllesby, pheasant hunting on his ranch in South Dakota and time with his grandkids.

George is survived by his wife Judy, her daughter Jody, daughters, Julie (Al) Watts, Sandee (Jim) Wenzel, Georgia (John) Goffe; 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, brother John (Sandy) Wilson, many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters and brothers-in law; Norma and Walter Peterman  & Maxine and Marvin Trabing and infant daughter Janie.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, October 13, at 11:00 am, at Riverwood Church, 5343 Hwy 19 Blvd, Cannon Falls, MN 55009. There will be a visitation at the church beginning at 9:30 am. There will be a lunch served at the church following the service. George’s memorial service will be live streamed and may be viewed on Friday by clicking the link below.
