Gwen Nelson

Gwen Ann (Dirckx) Nelson, age 52 of Randolph, died at her daughter’s home in Randolph on Sunday morning, April 8, 2018.

Gwen was born on July 15, 1965 in Concord, California, the daughter of Gregory and June (Smith) Dirckx.  She graduated from Cannon Falls High School in 1983 and attended Dakota County Vo-Tech.  She married Ron Bauer, and together had their two children.  She later married Mark Nelson. She was currently employed at the Northfield Hospital.

She loved spending time with her family and her many friends and co-workers.  The lights of her life were her grandchildren! Gwen was a beautiful person, who would do anything for you, and was always respectful of others.

She was loved by many! She is survived by her husband, Mark; two children and three grandchildren, Bridget Bauer (Chase Robinson) of Randolph, and their sons, Colt and Boone Robinson, and Casey Bauer of Randolph, and his son, Asher Kalina; four step children and one granddaughter, Josh Nelson and his daughter, Audrina Nelson, Jeremy Nelson, Andrea Stelmack, and Mark Stelmack; her father and step mother, Greg and Judy Dirckx of Cannon Falls; brother, Dan (Lori) Dirckx of Stanton and their sons, Derek, Dylan, and Ryan Dirckx; two step sisters, Katie (Mike) Lecy of Cannon Falls and their daughters, Lauren and Kendra Lecy, and Jill Braithwaite of Minneapolis; mother-in-law, Connie Nelson of Minneapolis; and brother-in-law, Mike Nelson of Minneapolis.

She was preceded in death by her mother, June Findlay.

A memorial gathering with be held on Friday, April 13 from 4-7 p.m., with a service at 7 p.m., at Lundberg Funeral Home, 5839 Hwy 19 Blvd, Cannon Falls.

Memorials are preferred to Northfield Hospice.

Honorary pallbearers will be Trent Podritz, Ryan Podritz, Quin Podritz, Jim Heiman, Don “Butch” Marthaler, and Jim Otto.
