Harvey Erlanson, age 88, of Cannon Falls, died on Sunday, July 19, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
Harvey Irving Birdean Erlanson was born on April 3, 1932 in Barron County, WI, the son of Mathias and Minnie (Larson) Erlanson. He moved with his family to the Cannon Falls area at the age of five. Harvey graduated from Cannon Falls High School in 1950. On July 11, 1953, Harvey was united in marriage to LaVonne “Bonnie” Tyrrell, his high school sweetheart. Harvey farmed all of his life in Goodhue County. He was a member of Spring Garden Lutheran Church, where he was confirmed. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing softball in his younger years, and loved riding in the tractor. Harveys greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife Bonnie, children Barb (Craig McWaters) Showers, Ted (Diane) Erlanson, Bruce Erlanson and his dog Bella, Jean (Steve) Wilson, John (Teresa) Erlanson, and Cindy (Roger) Hougo; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; brother Llewelyn Erlanson; as well as many nieces, nephews, and in-laws. Harvey was preceded in death by his parents Matt and Minnie, his sisters Emmo Brekken and Melorie Ekstrom, brother Vern Erlanson, and his mother-in-law and father-in-law Ann and Ted Johnson.
Memorials are suggested to Spring Garden Lutheran Church or to the donor’s choice.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday July 24 at Spring Garden Lutheran Church, 10239 Co. 1 Blvd, Cannon Falls, MN 55009. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Spring Garden Cemetery. Please wear a mask. Strict social distancing will be adhered to. Lundberg Funeral Home is assisting the family.
