October 3, 1957 — February 27, 2023

Rosemount

Heidi Suzanne Holmes-Helgren, age 65 of Rosemount and formerly of Cannon Falls, died at her home on February 27, 2023.

Heidi was born on October 3, 1957, in Farmington, the daughter of John and Helen (Linehan) Holmes. She grew up in Bloomington, and in her senior year, moved to Cannon Falls. She graduated from Cannon Falls High School in 1975.

She married Robert Helgren in 1978, and they had four children together.

Heidi loved everything "history", including the Cannon Falls community, its history, and the people that built it! She was director of the Cannon Falls Historical Society and Museum for 20+ years.

She loved reading and could often be found doing so with a glass of wine, soaking in the sun. She enjoyed doing genealogy and had worked at the Cannon Falls Library for many years.

What she enjoyed most was her children and grandchildren! She loved to host her family for any get together or holiday, cooking and creating an atmosphere of love. She will be greatly missed!

She is survived by her sons, Adam (Allison) Helgren of Rosemount and Erik Helgren (Lydia Olson) of Apple Valley, and twin daughters, Mary (Joel) Greenberg of Inver Grove Heights and Sarah Helgren (Alex Carlson) of Apple Valley; five grandchildren, Madelyn and Grady Helgren, Adelaide, Myla, and Brynn Helgren; and many other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jack Holmes.

A private family celebration of life will be held.

Memorials may be directed in Heidi’s name to the Cannon Falls Historical Society and Museum, PO 111, 206 W Mill St Cannon Falls, MN 55009.
