Heidi Shorter

Heidi Marie Shorter, age 49 of Cannon Falls, died at her home on Monday morning, January 12, 2026.

Heidi was born on September 8, 1976 in Cannon Falls, the daughter of Richard and Kathy (Swanson) Shorter. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls. Heidi attended Cannon Falls schools, and later graduated in 1995 from the New Covenant Christian School in Northfield. She had taken mission trips while attending there.Heidi was a MN Wild and MN Viking fan, loved to play cards and board games, play Farkle, and read. She also enjoyed playing with her nieces and nephews. Later, when her health declined, she especially treasured her visits with friends.

She is survived by her mom, Kathy of Cannon Falls; siblings, Chad (Kriston) Shorter of Cannon Falls and Beckie Shorter (John Catlin) of Hastings; nephews and nieces, Reece (Alexandra), Carli Jo (Zach), Ashleah (Curtis), Kailey (Josh), and Josie (Chris); 17 great nieces and nephews; 1 great-great niece; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and God parent, Arthur Swanson.

She was preceded in death by her dad, Rich; grandparents, Evelyn and Estel Shorter and Evelyn and Kenneth Swanson; nephew, Craig Shorter; great nephew, Dawson Sommers; several aunts and uncles; the love of her life, Travis Teske; and her cat, Midnight.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 23 at 1:00 pm, with visitation from 11:00am-1:00pm, at First English Lutheran Church, Cannon Falls. This service will be live-streamed and available to watch below. Following lunch, interment will be at the Cannon Falls Cemetery.

Urn Bearers will be her nephew and nieces.
