James E. Pagel

James Edward Pagel, age 73 of Cannon Falls, died at his home on Saturday evening, August 2, 2025.

Jim was born on June 8, 1952 in Chicago, Illinois to Edward Filmore and Betty Ann (Ranfranz) Pagel. He attended school in Cannon Falls and graduated from Cannon Falls High School in 1970. He went on to St. Cloud State University.

He served with the military police in the US Army in Bayonne, New Jersey, and upon his honorable discharge, returned to finish his degree at St. Cloud, receiving his BA in management and finance. He married Lynette Payne on June 30, 1979 in St. Cloud. They made their home in Cannon Falls and in 1979, Jim and Lynette joined the family business, Chicago Ed's Fine Jewelry. They purchased the store in 1992 when his parents retired.

He is a member of First English Lutheran Church, the Cannon Falls Downtown Business Association, the Cannon Falls Chamber of Commerce, the SE Minnesota Watchmakers Association, Minnesota Jewelers Association, and the GIA.

He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends... wife of 46 years, Lynette; son, George and wife, Candice Lumibao; grandson, Edward; nieces and nephews, and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Betty Ann Pagel; and sister, Beth and her husband, Dennis "Denny" O'Neill.

Visitation will be held at Lundberg Funeral Home on Thursday, August 21 from 4-7 pm. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 22 at 11 am, with visitation from 10-11am, at First English Lutheran Church, Cannon Falls. This service will be livestreamed and available to view below. Interment with military honors will follow at the Cannon Falls Cemetery.

Active urn bearer will be his son, George. Honorary urn bearers will be The Weasels.

Memorials are preferred to donor's choice.
