Jane Martin

July 18, 1925 — May 10, 2017

Jane Martin Ola Jane Casey Slininger Martin passed away peacefully on May 10, 2017 at the age of 91 at the Northfield Care Center. Jane was born July 18, 1925 in El Dorado Arkansas, the first of three children to John Morgan and Ola Marzelle Betts Casey. She graduated from Old Union High School, El Dorado, AR, in 1943 and went on to study business at Ouachita Baptist College and Tyler Commercial College. She met Myrl Slininger while studying in Tyler, TX. They married on September 8, 1945 and made their home in Minnesota, mostly in the Randolph area. Together they raised 6 children. Myrl passed away in March of 1987. She married Dick Martin in 1996, he passed away in February of 2015. She asked for guidance from God in all that she did and believed in the promise of salvation through Jesus Christ. Her next greatest love was her family and there was always plenty of love and food for all. Organizing and hosting gatherings with friends was another of her passions- especially tea parties. Jane held numerous jobs, but her favorites were those in the food service/dietary field.

She is survived by children: Bill (Joyce) of St. Cloud; Linda (Bob) Benson of Cannon Falls; Jim (Karen) of Cannon Falls; Steve (Crystal) of Leland, NC; Marc (Karen) of Randolph; and Lori (Todd) Underdahl of Hampton. 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Step-children: Pat, Coleen and Gail and their families. Siblings Margaret and John, both of Texas and sister-in-law Gloria, of IL. Many nieces, nephews, and friends. Jane is preceded in death by her parents; her husbands - Myrl and Dick; great grandchild, Andrew Benson and a number of sisters and brothers-in-law. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 14 from 5-7:00 p.m. at Lundberg Funeral Home, 5839 Hwy 19 Blvd., Cannon Falls. Funeral services will be on Monday, May 15 at 11:00, with visitation from 10-11:00 am at Randolph Baptist Church, Randolph. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery, Randolph. We would like to thank Northfield Retirement Community for providing Mom with a place to call home, make great friends and for the great care she was given in her last days.
