Janet Thielbar

Janet Kathryn (Johnston) Thielbar, 56, of Randolph went to be with Jesus on October 6, 2014. She was born December 25, 1957 in Northfield to Ralph and Jeanette Johnston. She grew up in rural Dennison on the farm with her five siblings and developed a passion for playing baseball, which lead to her playing on the high school team. Janet graduated Randolph High School in 1976. She continued playing competitive softball for many years on local Cannon Falls based teams. On December 1, 1984 she married Calvin and together they raised three daughters and one son. Janet enjoyed her time with family, from her siblings to grandchildren. Her passion for baseball grew and intensified in years past, specifically following her son's journey. Her priority in life was her relationship with Jesus Christ, and she will be remembered for her selflessness and service to others. She is preceded in death by her parents. Janet is survived by her husband of almost 30 years, Calvin; children, Lisa (Matt) Freier of Farmington, Mandy (Joe) Aldrich of Cologne, Jamie (Jon) Selin of Pembine WI and Caleb Thielbar of Brookings SD; 8 grandchildren; sisters, Betty and Marge; brothers, Ralph, John and David, with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Because of Janet's commitment to family, memorials are preferred to the ministry of Focus on the Family of Colorado.
