Janet (Egge) Vold

Janet Lynn (Egge) Vold, age 75, a lifelong resident of Cannon Falls, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at Mayo Clinic Hospital - Rochester, Methodist Campus.

Janet was born on September 25, 1948 in Cannon Falls, the daughter of Julius "Pete" and Doris (Johnson) Egge. She graduated from Cannon Falls High School on June 6, 1966. She married Joel Vold on May 24, 1968 in Brookings, South Dakota. Together they raised four daughters.

Janet received her LPN degree from Dakota County AVTI on June 26, 1981, and later received her Associate degree from Inver Hills Community College on May 13, 2004. She worked as a nurse in long term care, retiring from Angels Care Center after 18 years on January 6, 2011. After retiring, she worked part time as a cashier at Wal-Mart, school lunch room, and cashier at Econo Foods.

Janet loved to travel, read, bake, and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joel on 2/7/2021; a premature baby in September, 1978; parents-in-law, Ole and Marian Vold; sisters, Judith (Robert) Nassif and Marie (Arnie) Berg; brother, Richard; niece, Kelly; and great-granddaughter, Angel.

She is survived by her children, Jenni (Dan) Felling, Barb Vold, Susan (Keith) Pelkey, and Missy Dahlenburg; grandchildren, Amanda, Joe (Bridget), Alyssa (James), Lizzy (Leif), Nikki (Josh), Samantha (Cody), Meghan, Alecia, Zack, Ryan (Allison), Matt, Brandon, and Emma; great-grandchildren, Dawson, Lily, Lohgann, Izzy, Lyla, McKenna, Bennett, Morgan, Maxx, Brianna, Natalie, Brynlee, Noah, Blaze, Waverley, Mackenzie, and one more on the way; step great-grandson, Trey and Jack; siblings, JoAnne (Wayne) Danielson, Linda (Jerry) Roney, and Rosalie Egge; sisters-in-law, JoAnn Egge, Sonja (Mike) Landon, Karen Johnson, Terri Vold, and Donna Vold; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 20 at 1:00 pm, with visitation from 11 am-1 pm, at Our Saviour's Ev. Lutheran Church, Cannon Falls. This service will be live-streamed and available to watch below. Interment will follow at the Cannon Falls Cemetery, as well as lunch at church.

Active urn bearers will be grandchildren, Zachary Vold and Meghan Svien. Honorary urn bearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
