Jeanette (Kuhn) Roiger — Cannon Falls Jeanette G. Roiger, 94, a lifelong resident of Cannon Falls, died peacefully at Ebenezer Ridges Senior Campus in Burnsville, MN, early Friday morning, February 21, 2014. A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 27, at St. Pius V Catholic Church in Cannon Falls, with Father Fernando Ortega presiding. Pre-service visitation is at the church starting at 9:30 a.m. Pallbearers include several of Jeanette's grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jeanette was born in Cannon Falls on October 27, 1919, the eldest child of John and Tracy Kuhn. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Pius V Catholic Church. After graduating from high school in 1936, Jeanette went to work as a waitress at the Home Cafe. Jeanette was united in marriage to Albert Roiger on June 21, 1945. She worked hand in hand with Albert in his grocery store and supported his strong community involvement. Jeanette was a homemaker and an excellent cook. The demands of raising three children did not prevent her from volunteering. She volunteered at the nursing home, on election days, and worked at numerous church funerals. Jeanette spent countless hours caring for her mother, grandmother, and grandchildren. She will be lovingly remembered by her family and many friends for her warm heart, her generosity, and her tender spirit. Jeanette is survived by her children: Richard (Suzanne) Roiger of Bloomington, Ron (Sue) Roiger of Rosemount, Teri (John Menegon) Roiger of New York; her brother Jim (Shirley) Kuhn of Randolph; seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and brothers Gerald and Eldridge Kuhn. We are extremely grateful to the wonderful caregivers at The View in Cannon Falls and at Ebenezer Ridges Care Center in Burnsville. We are thankful for the many joyous hours Kressin Hartl "Jeanette's pen pal" spent with her.
