Jennevie O'Reilly

Jennevie O'Reilly Jennevie "Jen" F (Froistad) O'Reilly, age 91 of Red Wing, passed away at Fairview Seminary Home on Friday, May 4, 2012. Jen was born on October 16, 1920 in Boone County, NE, the daughter of Olaf and Selma Froistad. She was baptized at South Branch Church in Boone County. She graduated in 1938 as valedictorian from Newman Grove High School in Boone County after which she attended the University of Nebraska. She married Don O'Reilly on May 21, 1955 at St. Columbkill Catholic Church in Belle Creek Jen and Don loved to travel making many trips to Norway and Ireland to visit family. Together they started the Don and Jen O'Reilly Scholarship Fund at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Goodhue High School and Newman Grove High School in Nebraska. Jen loved to read, taking in multiple newspapers each day. She will be remembered as a caring person who will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband of nearly 57 years, Don; brother, Duane Froistad; sisters-in-law, Jeannette (Vernon) Froistad, Therese (Vaughn) Bien; brothers-in-law, Gerald and Larry O'Reilly; nieces and nephews, Tom(Claudia) Froistad, Christy (John) Hartmann, Anita (Rick) Fenno, Kathy (Gary) Reynolds, Cherie (Richard) Coffman, Kerry (Pat) Bien, Vaughn Jr. (Bernadette) Bien, Tim (Denise) Bien and John (Andrea) Bien. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Vernon; sister-in-law, Mary Froistad; and nephew Tom Bien. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 8 from 4-7 p.m. at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Goodhue, corner of 1st Ave and 4th St., Goodhue and one hour prior to service at church. Funeral service will be held at St. Luke Lutheran Church on Wednesday, May 9 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Greg Hall officiating. Burial to follow service at St. Columbkill Catholic Cemetery in Belle Creek.
