Joan E. Mc Inerny

Joan Mc Inerny, age 91, of Cannon Falls, died on Saturday, November 4, at the Mayo Clinic Health System, Cannon Falls.

Joan Eloise Mc Inerny was born on Feb. 10, 1932, in Minneapolis, the daughter of Evald and Lorena (Hamiln) Erickson. She grew up there and graduated from Southwest High School. Following high school, Joan attended Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, where she earned a Bachelors Degree in Social Work. She was united in marriage to Michael Mc Inerny on September 20, 1953, and they made their home in Cannon Falls. Joan was a homemaker and enjoyed helping her husband with his work as a teacher and coach. She served as an election judge for several years. Joan liked playing Bridge and other card games. She will be missed by those who she knew and loved.

Survivors include her husband Michael, children Kim Fordahl, and Michael (Kathy) Mc Inerny; grandchildren Breynne Ratnayake, Zachary Fordahl, and Callie Fordahl; step-granddaughter Renee (Tim) Hall; great-grandchildren Nora Fordahl, Mila Fordahl, Eli Ratnayake, and Isaiah Ratnayake; brother Bill Erickson; and nieces Kristi and Julie. Joan was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2023, from 1:00 – 3:00 pm, at Lundberg Funeral Home, 5839 Hwy 19 Blvd, Cannon Falls, MN 55009.
