John Krantz, age 69, of Cannon Falls, died Sunday, July 16, 2023 at his home.
John Carl Krantz was born on June 20, 1954 in Minneapolis, the son of John A. and Frieda L. (Colburn) Krantz. He grew up in Richfield where he graduated from high school. He attended vocational school for auto mechanics, graduating in 1972. On July 24, 1976, John was married to Kathy Lindholm. They lived for a few years in south Minneapolis, before building their home in Cannon Falls in 1982. John owned Bob’s Small Engine in Richfield for 17 years, had a hardwood mulch business, was a Farrier for 26 years, worked for the Stanton Township Road Crew, was a part-time truck driver for Ferndale Farms, and served on the Stanton Township Planning Commission.
John loved all of his critters, including dogs, horses, cows, cats, racoons, etc. He loved fishing. Once he got into a boat, you couldn’t get him back home! He was a jack-of-all-trades which really helped on the hobby farm he and Kathy shared. He could fix anything!
Survivors include his wife Kathy, his sisters Jeanne Krantz-Swenson, Sandy (Kevin) Krantz-O’Neil; mother-in-law Patricia Pockrandt; father-in-law Roger (Louise) Lindholm; sister-in-law Pam Hickey; brother-in-law Gordy Lindholm; and nieces and nephews Mollie, Joe, Bridget, Cory, and Dana.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Frieda Krantz.
A celebration of life for John will be held at a later date.
