Joy Perryman

Joy Ione Perryman, age 76 of Cannon Falls, died peacefully on Friday evening, May 19, 2017 at Three Links Care Center in Northfield. Joy and her sister, Jean were born on January 29, 1941 in Williston, ND, daughters of Erwin and Mabel "Lucetta" (Wright) Miller. She graduated from Williston High School in 1959 and attended the University of North Dakota – Williston for one year. She married Kenneth E. Perryman on August 21, 1964 in Williston. She was a loving wife and mother, raising three children. She worked for many years at the Cannon Falls High School as the lunch lady, retiring in 1984. Joy was also a longtime babysitter for many Cannon Falls families. As a longtime active member of St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church, she had served as church school superintendent. She had also been active in Kenosha, WI with a church quilting group. Joy was an avid baker, donating baked goods to church and school activities. She was a talented seamstress and had sewn many matching outfits for her children and their cousins, and Halloween costumes for her family. A woman of great faith, caring nature, and a good sense of humor, she will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her husband of nearly 53 years, Ken; children, Peggy (Kevin) Middlestead of Farmington, Penny Robinson of Cannon Falls, and Corey (Jill) Perryman of Moorhead; 7 grandchildren, Jacob Middlestead of Farmington, Rachel Middlestead of Roseville, Jordan Perryman of Cannon Falls, Gage Robinson of Cannon Falls, Breanne (Chris) King of Fargo, ND, Dillon Perryman of Fargo, ND, and Tanner Perryman of Moorhead; 4 great grandsons, Cameron, Carter, Ryker, and Maddox; sisters, twin Jean (Allen) King of Farmington and Virginia (James) Baisch of Bonney Lake, WA; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ken Giles, Dwight Perryman, Larry (Dee) Perryman, Etta Miller, Kathy Larson, and Carolyn Pruitt; and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Erwin and Lucetta Miller; parents-in-law, Edward and Edith Perryman; brothers, Les (Berta) Miller, Bob Miller, and Jerry (Ruth) Miller; sisters, Donna Ring and Peggy (Vern) Nelson; sister-in-law, Shelba Giles; brothers-in-law, Wes Pruitt and Harold Larson; nephew, Alan Miller; and niece, Diane Wood. A visitation will be held on Monday, May 22 from 5-8 p.m. at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls. Funeral service will be on Tuesday, May 23 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation from 10-11 a.m., at St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls. Interment will follow at St. Ansgar's Lutheran Cemetery, Cannon Falls. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Gage Gives Back and MacPhail Center for Music (memo: To the MacPhail Giving Voices Choir in memory of Joy Perryman.) Active pallbearers will be Dillon Perryman, Tanner Perryman, Jordan Perryman, Jacob Middlestead, Michael Siedow, Jacob King and Justin King. Honorary pallbearers will be all nieces and nephews.
