Julia Syvilla (Raasch) Bolin, 87, of Goodhue passed away on July 1, 2026 at the Methodist Hospital.
Julia was born to Arnold and Syvilla Raasch May 9, 1939 and grew up in Red Wing. She attended St. John's Lutheran School in Red Wing and Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN. She worked as a secretary for the Red Wing Shoe Company for nine years and in her retirement for Sargent's Nursery in Red Wing for fifteen years. In her later years, she volunteered at Wise Penny in Red Wing. She was an avid reader and liked gardening and traveling.
On January 28, 1961 she married Calvin Bolin. They made their home in rural Red Wing where they farmed for five decades.
She is survived by her five children Karen Bolin (Grim), Kevin (Angala) Bolin, Kelly (Kim) Bolin, Kory (Emmie) Bolin, and Kristina (Justin) Redalen; her brother Arnie (Linda) Raasch; brother-in-law Tucker Fredrickson; grandchildren Julia (Joe) Ohmann, Joanna, and Janessa Grim, Jeremiah, Marie (Christopher) Waldrop, Micah (Baylee), Jonah (Michelle), Noah (Katie), Elijah, Ben (Cielo), Peyton, Joshua Bolin and Jordan Erickson; and nine great-grandchildren Isabella, Mason, Brooksie, Millie, Shellie, Shelby, Hudson, Lyndsey, and Jacob.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Calvin; son-in-law Donald Grim; daughter-in-law Diane Bolin; grandson Christopher Bolin; sister-in-law Simone Raasch; and sister and brother-in-law Jane and Jerry Ellingson.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 11 at 2:00 pm, with visitation from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 36620 Co 4 Blvd, Goodhue. The service will be live-streamed and available to watch below. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Red Wing, following light refreshments at church.
Memorials can be made in Julia's memory to St. John's Lutheran School.
