Kandi Lockhart

Kandi Sue Lockhart, age 58 of Cannon Falls, died at her home on Wednesday, March 25, 2015. Kandi Sue Prouty was born on September 22, 1956 in Omaha, NE, the daughter of Robert and Mabel (Viker) Prouty. She graduated in 1974 from Byron High School, and went on to Rochester Vo-Tech for two years. She married James C. Lockhart on June 26, 1976 in Rock Dell, MN. She worked as a 911 dispatcher for the Cannon Falls Police Department from 1985-1992, Goodhue County Sheriff's Department from 1992-2001, and the Metropolitan Airport Commission from 2001-2008. Throughout, she drove school bus for the Cannon Falls School District #252 for 30 years, where she also was Transportation Director for two years. She was a local EMT for many years. She was an original member of the Cannon Falls Youth Athletic Association. Kandi lived life to the fullest, and loved her granddaughters deeply. She enjoyed softball, golf, and spending time with her girlfriends. She is survived by her husband of over 38 years, Jim; sons, Jamey (Kelly) of Hampton and Jeremiah of Cannon Falls; granddaughters, McKenzie, Lauryn, and Alexis; her parents, Robert and June Prouty of Rochester and Mabel and Gerald Bale of Byron; sisters and brothers, Sharon Tix of Racine, MN, Julie Stevens of Rochester, Mike (Kelly) Bale of Byron, and Rodney (Cheryl) Prouty of Kasson; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Janet Marie Bale; and grandparents, Magnus and Edna Viker and James and Emma Prouty. Visitation will be Sunday, March 29 from 2-5 p.m. at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls. Funeral service will be on Monday, March 30 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation from 10-11 a.m., at St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls. Interment will follow at the Cannon Falls Cemetery. Honorary pallbearer will be Jonathan Lockhart. Active pallbearers will be Nick Lockhart, Dustin and Dillon Stevens, Hunter and Jack Prouty, and Jordan Bale.
