Karen Bongard

Karen Alice Bongard, age 58 of Randolph, MN died peacefully in her home on Tuesday morning, July 11, 2017. She was born on February 14, 1959 in Denver, Colorado to Harlan and Constance (Bayer) Bongard. In 2008, Karen was married to Doug Wille at the Wille farm in Randolph MN. While raising her three wonderful children, she ran a storage business on her farm south of Cannon Falls. This brought Karen much pleasure, because faithfully serving others comes deep from within her heart. Soon after, she attended Regency Beauty Institute and earned her nail technician license. She then went to work at the Family Salon in Cannon Falls, and was there for six years. To Karen, each of her clients at the Salon were very special to her, and as a result, she became deeply immersed in many of their lives. The amazing relationships she developed with her clients is an inspiration to us all. After her marriage to Doug, she also began working alongside Doug with the farm operations, and managed the various rental properties as well. Karen loved to adorn the property with flowers. She was an avid gardener, and was well known for her crops of tomatoes. Above all, she loved spending time with family and friends. She leaves behind her beloved husband, Doug; two sons, Dan Ummel and Josh Brandt; and a daughter, Alis Brandt. She also leaves a brother, Jeff Bongard; a sister, Beth Bongard; three nieces, Jen Shonkwiler, Cassi Garza, and Emmy Garza; two great nieces, Kayla Norstad and Marissa VonBargen; and three great nephews, Matt Norstad, Andy VonBargen, and Skyler Bongard-Andreas. A Celebration of Life will take place at the Cannon River Winery on Sunday, July 16 for an afternoon of remembrance and shared blessings to honor a woman who was cherished by so many. Visitation will begin at 3:00 pm, with a light supper around 5:30 pm, and a short celebration of life to follow. Please come as you are, but no black attire per the family's request.
