Keith Frank Johnson

Keith Frank Johnson, 92, of Cannon Falls, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, July 10, 2026.

Keith was born on December 11, 1933, in Cannon Falls to Melvin Bertle Johnson and Rose Elenore (Nelson) Johnson. He was a lifelong resident of Cannon Falls.

On August 23, 1953, Keith married the love of his life, Elizabeth Louise "Betty Lu" Martinson. Together they shared nearly 73 years of marriage, building a home filled with love while raising their four children: Becky (DJ) Grote, Brent (Karen Sage) Johnson, Jimmy Johnson, and Dale (Lisa Maxwell) Johnson.

Following the passing of his father in 1954, Keith and his brother, Bruce, took over the family business, Riverview Dairy, operating it together for 25 years. He later owned and operated the Cannon Falls Greenhouse for three years before beginning a 19-year career as a rural mail carrier with the United States Postal Service. Whether delivering milk, growing flowers, or delivering the mail, Keith took pride in serving the people of Cannon Falls and in every job he did.

Keith found joy in the simple things. He especially loved tending his vegetable garden and took pride in sharing its bounty with family and friends. He enjoyed gathering with his longtime coffee group, where stories, laughter, and friendships were shared over countless cups of coffee. Above all, Keith cherished time with his family. His children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the greatest blessings of his life.

Keith was a member of Saint Ansgar's Lutheran Church, the Masonic Lodge, and the Shriners. He and Betty Lu created a home where family, friends, and neighbors always felt welcome. Whether stopping by for a visit, sharing a meal, or simply enjoying good conversation, everyone was greeted with warmth and hospitality. Keith's steadfast love for his family and generous heart will be remembered by all who knew him.

Keith is survived by his beloved wife, Betty Lu; his children, Becky (DJ) Grote, Brent (Karen Sage) Johnson, Jimmy Johnson, and Dale (Lisa Maxwell) Johnson; his brother, Bruce Johnson; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin Bertle Johnson and Rose Elenore (Nelson) Johnson, and his daughter-in-law, Jeanne (Forss) Johnson.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 17, 2026, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., at Saint Ansgar's Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls. Interment will follow at the Cannon Falls Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to Saint Ansgar's Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls and Mayo Clinic Hospice.
