LaVonne Remme

LaVonne "Bonnie" (Leiding) Remme, age 83 of Cannon Falls, MN passed away after a short battle with pancreatic cancer on Monday, October 27, 2014. She was born on April 12, 1931 in Martin County, MN, the daughter of Conrad W. and Theresa (Bremer) Leiding. She married Albert "Pete" Remme on March 19, 1954. Her passion in life was caring for others. She graduated from the Kahler School of Nursing in Rochester in 1953 and worked with Dr. R.E. Molenaar in Cannon Falls from 1957 until 1997, when she retired. Her love of medicine continues even after her death, as she donated her body to research at the Mayo Clinic. She was active in her church and LWMS. She was member of the Hospital Auxiliary and the Ladies VFW Auxiliary. The Twins, Gophers and Vikings have lost a loyal fan as she watched them faithfully throughout the years. She enjoyed her gardens, filled with flowers and vegetables, working in the dirt, and having a fresh bouquet in the house all season long. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Pete; son, Bob (Denise Zantow) of Milwaukee WI; daughter, Becky (Julie Anderson) of Red Wing; grandchildren, Stephanie (Dave) Peterson and Nick (Sarah) Remme; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Judy (Richard) Benz of Concord, NC; sisters-in-law, Ellie Leiding of Mankato, Gracie Leiding of Ceylon, and Ginny Wille of Cannon Falls; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Theresa and Conrad Leiding; and brothers, Claire and Glen Leiding. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 31 at 1:00 pm at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls. A visitation will be held at church on Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Honorary Pallbearers will be her eight great-grandchildren, Jacob, Noah, Ben, Lauryn, Emma, Matt, Selia, and Chloe. Memorials are preferred to St. Croix Hospice and St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
