Lenora M. Rapp, age 93, of Cannon Falls, died peacefully at her home on Sunday, May 12, 2019.
Lenora Miranda Rapp was born on May 7, 1926 in Wanamingo, the daughter of Leonard and Myrtle (Jacobson) Ellingson. She grew up in Wanamingo, Red Wing, Hastings and Cannon Falls. On January 4, 1946, Lenora was united in marriage to Marvin Rapp at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Lenora worked in sales for Lea’s Ready to Wear, Scofield Drug, and Hjermsted Hardware. She managed the Anderson Hallmark from 1978-88. She was a member of St. Ansgar’s Lutheran Church and served as an election judge for many years. Lenora enjoyed painting, crafting, quilting, sewing, and baking – especially homemade bread. She also loved making handmade Christmas ornaments with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her children Ken (Linda) Rapp, Gail Kochie, Bob Rapp, Bill (Cindy) Rapp, and Jane (Steve) Olson; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brothers Robert and Leonard Ellingson; sister Joanne Wagnon; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 53 years, Marvin; brothers Melvin, Donald, and Arlen; and sisters Agnes, Ruth, and Katherine.
Funeral services will be on Monday, May 20, 2019 at 10:00 am, at St. Ansgar’s Lutheran Church, 7459 Hwy 19 Blvd, Cannon Falls, MN 55009. Visitation will be Sunday, May 19, 2019, from 4-7:00 pm at Lundberg Funeral Home, 5839 Hwy 19 Blvd, Cannon Falls, MN 55009. There will also be a visitation at the church one hour prior to the funeral service on Monday. Interment will be in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery on Tuesday. Memorials are preferred to the Cannon Falls Veteran’s Memorial or the American Cancer Society.
