Leola Josephine "Lee" Frame, age 96 of Cannon Falls, passed away peacefully on Saturday evening, April 26, 2025.

Leola was born on July 12, 1928 in New Market, Scott County, MN, the oldest daughter of Joseph and Rose (Welter) DeGross. She graduated from Farmington High School in 1946 and then attended Winona State College. She received her two-year teaching certificate in June, 1948 and taught at Castle Rock School for three years.

Leola married Francis W. Frame on June 5, 1951 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Farmington. They later divorced in 1980.

She was a full-time homemaker, was active as a 4-H leader from the late 1940's until 1972, in extension home council, and a substitute teacher. In 1970, she was substitute Post Mistress at Castle Rock for five years. After moving to Zumbrota, she went to work at the Pine Cheese Mart, Pine Island for 10 years. In April, 1985 she started working as a home health aide for Goodhue County, until retiring after eleven years in September, 1996.

Upon moving to Cannon Falls, she became active in the Golden Agers, serving as secretary for three years and president for two years. Lee also volunteered as a dispatcher and driver for the Goodhue County Volunteer Transportation Program, starting in 1998 until 2010. She enjoyed card playing, reading, traveling, Twins games, crocheting and helping others.

She is survived by her four sons and three daughters, Peter (Lynn) Frame of Barnum, Linda Frame of Savage, Julie (Tony) Huneke of Lake City, John (Barb) Frame of Northfield, Paul (Delaney) Frame of Edmonton, Canada, Daniel (Irma) Frame of Sylmar, CA and Mary Shelton of Pine Island; 13 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 5 sisters, Josephine Lind, Rosemary Orndorff, Deloris Millerbernd, Marlene Millerbernd, and Elaine Rossow; and sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; former husband; grandsons, Joshua Frame and Jake Alcorn; son-in-law, Todd Shelton; two brothers, Pete and Nick DeGross; and sisters, Cecelia Belter and Mary Schaffer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 12 at 11 am at St. Pius V Catholic Church in Cannon Falls. Family and friends may gather one hour prior to mass. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Carrying the cremated remains is her son, Paul Frame.

As the family is celebrating her birthday, the celebration of life lunch will be held at Lake Byllesby Regional Park (Dakota County side) following the mass and burial.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Senior Center, or donor's choice.
