LeRoy Otte

LeRoy Erwin Otte, age 78 of Faribault and formerly of Randolph, died at his home on Sunday, April 24, 2016. LeRoy was born on October 22, 1937 in Red Wing, the son of Erwin P. and Edna G (Spillman) Otte. He graduated from Randolph High School in 1955 and farmed near Randolph most of his life. He married Jo Ann Priebe on June 27, 1964 in Minneapolis, and they made their home in Hampton Township until moving to Faribault in 2000. He was a former member of Christ United Methodist Church near Randolph. LeRoy was an avid music lover, and sang bass in the Faribault Barber Shop Chorus for many years. He loved watching his grandchildren in their activities, and loved watching MN sports. He enjoyed playing cards and sharing meals at the Faribault Senior Center, along with reading his daily newspapers. He will be remembered for his love of family, his devotion to his wife, and his love of spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his son, John E. (Joyce) of Roberts, WI; daughter, Sandra L. (Randy) Hansen of Blaine; four grandchildren, Nicholas, Nathan and Jacob Otte, and Hailey Hansen; brother, Roger (Marilyn) of Cannon Falls; sisters-in-law, Laura (Ray) Bauer of Florida and Carol (Stephen) Dennis of Plymouth; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of over 39 years, JoAnn; and brother-in-law, Marlow Priebe. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 1 from 5-8 p.m. at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls. A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 2 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation from 10-11 a.m., at Christ United Methodist Church. Interment will follow the luncheon at the Cannon Falls Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Honorary pallbearers will be Nicholas, Nathan, and Jacob Otte, Hailey Hansen, John Day, Jerry Otte, Harlan Radman, and Bob Lee.
