Luvern Tix

Luvern Nicholas Tix, age 88 of Hampton, died on Thursday morning, July 9, 2015 at Rochester Methodist Hospital. Luvern was born at home on the family farm in Hampton Township on January 30, 1927, the son of Joseph and Marie (Doffing) Tix. He continued to farm and live throughout his life at his birthplace. In his younger years, he had also been employed with Cenex for 20 years. He loved deer and fox hunting in the local area. He enjoyed his many friends and his conversations with them. Luvern will be remembered as a hardworking man and one to always have a cheerful smile. He was a loving husband of 58 years to Lorraine (Classen) Tix. He is also survived by nephews, Wayne (Sarah) Tix of Hastings and Roger Tix of Baxter. He was preceded in death by his parents. Per Luvern's wishes, a graveside service will be held at St. Mathias Catholic Cemetery, Hampton on Tuesday, July 14 at 1:00 p.m. with Fr. Michael Tix officiating. Pallbearers will be Joe Meyers, Al Bester, Howard Hennen and Wally LaValla.
