Marie Eloise Barth

Marie Eloise Barth, 82, of Cannon Falls, died peacefully on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at her home.

Eloise was born September 8, 1941, in Alexandria, Indiana, the daughter of Earl and Ruby (Ingle) Rice. She married Eugene "Gene" Barth on October 27, 1956, in Alexandria, Indiana. 

Eloise worked for many years at J.C. Penny until they retired to Florida. Returning to Minnesota to beat the heat, she started working at the Cannon Falls School where she remained until she retired in 2013. She enjoyed knitting with friends, grandkids and great- grandkids and the commotion of “all family” dinners. 

She is survived by, sons, Danny (Laurie) Barth of Lakeville, Joseph (Kathleen) Barth of Anchorage, AK; daughter, Cassandra (David) Williamson of Hager City, WI; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and she was thrilled to learn of a great-great grandchild due in November. Sister, Sandra Summers of Chesterfield, IN; sister-in-law Sue Barth of Alexandria, IN and many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gene, sisters; Betty Hensley, Georgia Hancher, Susan Jewell, brother Donald and great-granddaughter Katie Marie Luebbert. 

A private interment at East Christiania Cemetery, Eureka Township will be held at a later date. Memorials are preferred to St. Croix Hospice or donor’s choice.
