Marjorie "Marge" Jean (Smallidge) Dracy, 93, died on November 6, 2023, at DHR Health Hospice in McAllen, TX. She was born on August 14, 1930, to William Franklin, Sr., and Lenore (Ludolph) Smallidge in St. Paul Park, Minnesota. 

She attended school, grades one through eight, in a one room classroom in Langdon, MN-now known as Cottage Grove. She attended high school in St. Paul Park, graduating in 1948. She then went on to attend the University of Minnesota, graduating in March 1952 with a degree in Home Economics education. She taught at Stowe Jr. High in Duluth, MN and at North St. Paul, MN. On June 19, 1952, she was united in marriage to Dr. Robert Dracy at the First Congregational Church in St. Paul Park, MN. 

In her teen years she was very active in 4-H Club work. She won two trips, with scholarships, to the national 4-H Club Congress in Chicago. One was for the frozen foods project, and the other for junior leadership. 

In the fall of 1953, she and her husband moved to Cannon Falls, MN, where he began his veterinary practice. 

Marge was a stay-at-home mom for fifteen years before returning to teach Home Economics and Special Education at Cannon Falls High School for 27 years, retiring in 1993. 

After retirement, she and husband "Doc" spent the winters in McAllen, TX. In 2016 she became a full-time Texas resident. 

Marge was very active in the Order of the Eastern Star her entire life, having served as Worthy Matron several times. 

Her many interests included quilting, crafts, crocheting, knitting, canning, baking, flower gardening, and bird watching. 

She is survived by her four children: John (Pat) Dracy, II, of Fair Lawn, NJ, Robert, Jr. (Joyce) Dracy of Moorcroft, WY, Ann Anderson (Charles Bryson) of McAllen, TX, and Carol Dracy of McAllen, TX; four grandchildren: Kate Dracy (Dr. Kevin Chen) of Walnut Creek, CA, Brian Dracy of New Ulm, MN, Kersten (Craig) Veronesi of Tulsa, OK, and John (Zoraida) Dracy, III, of Paramus, NJ; two great grandchildren: Owen Chen of Walnut Creek, CA, and Isaiah Dracy of Paramus, NJ; brothers: Ronald Smallidge of Mendota Heights, MN, and Eugene Smallidge of Hastings, MN.  

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, her parents, an infant brother, Bobby, and brother Bill. 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 4 at 11:00 am, with visitation from 10:00-11:00 am, at First English Lutheran Church, 511 W. Belle St., Cannon Falls. Interment will follow at the Cannon Falls Cemetery. Please join the family for a luncheon in the church fellowship hall.
Memorials are preferred to First English Lutheran Church, 511 W. Belle St., Cannon Falls.
