Mark Stedman

Mark Earle Stedman died at home on his 62nd birthday on Saturday, May 10, 2014. Mark was born on May 10, 1952 in Northfield, the son of Earle and Muriel (Omsberg) Stedman. He grew up in Cannon Falls and graduated from Cannon Falls High School in 1970. He went on to receive his Bachelor's degree in psychology at Winona State University, his Master's degree at University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh and his Ph.D. in human factors psychology at University of South Dakota in Vermillion. He taught at University of WI – River Falls, University of Maine in Farmington, Winona State University, and St. Mary's University of MN. Mark married Gail Olson on May 18, 1987 in Farmington, Maine and they made their home in Cannon Falls. He loved fishing, old cars, collecting coins, and visiting with his many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew, James Goudy. He is survived by his wife Gail, daughter Kathryn, sister Beverly Stedman, and nieces Jaye Brazicki and Rebecca Previte. A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 17 from 1-2:30 p.m. at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Stanton Cemetery. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
