Marvin Pagel

Marvin Emerson Pagel, 85 of Cannon Falls, MN passed away peacefully on July 5, 2016 at The Gardens Care Center, surrounded by his family. He was born July 22, 1930 in Minneapolis, MN. He was the son of William H. Pagel, Sr. and Bessie (Morey) Pagel. He married Eldora Ertz on July 20, 1957 in Minneapolis, MN. Marvin was a member of St. Pius V Catholic Church of Cannon Falls, MN. He worked as a general mechanic and went on to become a heavy equipment mechanic. He retired in 1993 and enjoyed traveling with his wife. He was a member of IUOE Local 49. He served in the Army in the 1st Infantry Division, 26th Regiment, from 1948 to 1956. He was a life member of DAV Chapter No 1. Marvin will be deeply missed by his children and grandchildren. Survivors include wife, Eldora; five daughters, Ellen Pagel (Idaho Falls, ID), Karen Ohmann (Northfield, MN), Angela Hanson (Red Wing, MN), Renae Pagel (Ramsey, MN), Wendy (Tom) Cordes (La Crescent, MN); six grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren; three brothers, Ralph (Hastings, MN), Myron (North Minneapolis, MN), and Marshall (Red Wing, MN). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Madeline and Marjorie, two brothers, William and Mason; and his daughter, Pamela Jane Varnado. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 9, at St. Pius V Catholic Church, 410 Colvill St W, Cannon Falls, at 11:00 am. A visitation will be held at Lundberg Funeral Home, 5839 Hwy 19 Blvd, on Friday, July 8, from 4-8 pm, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial at St. Pius V Cemetery to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
