Nahum Terwilliger

Nahum Tainter Terwilliger, age 88, of Cannon Falls, died Sunday, November 12, 2017 at The Gardens at Cannon Falls.

Nahum was born on September 12, 1929, in Stanton MN, the son of Robert and Stella (Van Guilder) Terwilliger.  He moved to Cannon Falls as a boy and graduated from Cannon Falls High School. Following school Nahum was drafted into the U. S. Army and served in Alaska during the Korean War. He married Mary Lee Groth on February 14, 1960 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wanamingo.  Following their marriage, they moved to his father’s farm, where he farmed in Vasa Township for many years. Nahum was also a postal worker for the USPS. He was a lifelong member of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Cannon Falls, where he was very active. Nahum was a member of the American Legion and had volunteered for the Shepherd’s Center. He enjoyed gardening and hunting when he was younger.

Survivors include his seven children, Lawrence “Lance”, Andrew (Brenda), John, Charles “Chuck” (Jenny), Paul (Kathy), Joseph (Amy), and Michele; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren;  and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of over 50 years, Mary on October 28, 2010; brother Clifford Terwilliger; and sisters Gweneth Pagel and Stella Kim.

Memorials are suggested to the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer or the Shepherd’s Center.
