Norman "Shorty" and Geneva "Neva" Scott of Cannon Falls, died as a result of a car accident in Cannon Falls on Friday, July 4, 2014. Geneva Marie was born on April 21, 1935 in Cannon Falls, the daughter of Nels and Lila (Bakken) Lockrem. She graduated from Cannon Falls High School and married Al Henderson. She worked as a clerk for the Cannon Falls Police Department and Cannon Falls Hospital, and later Cenex in St. Paul. After 14 years of marriage, her husband Al died. She reconnected with an old friend from high school, Norman Scott and they started their future together. They married in February, 1982. Norman Lester was born on October 14, 1935 in Castle Rock Township, the son of Hans E. and Cecelia M. (Jepson) Scott. He graduated from Randolph High School and went on to serve with the U.S. Marine Corps. He was honorably discharged in 1957. He worked with North Star Steel and Furnaces for 25 years, and was a member of Steel Workers Union #7263. He was also a member of American Legion Post #142. They were members of First English Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls, where Geneva was active in ladies circle. Shorty loved gardening, and selling his beautiful flowers and vegetables at Farmer's Market. Geneva loved walking, sharing lunch dates with her high school classmates, and spending time with her husband and family. She adored her husband and was most content to be at home and support his gardening activities. They leave behind a daughter, Debra (Bruce) Erickson of Northfield; six grandchildren, Jessica (Mike) Schaffer of Spring Valley, WI, Joshua Tupa (friend, Alicia Miller) of Farmington, Jennifer (Justin) Wenstad of Lonsdale, Cameron Erickson (fiancé, Becky Tyrrel) of Northfield, James Tupa (fiancé, Claire Ernst) of Northfield and Elizabeth Erickson of Centerville, TN; and four great-grandchildren, Joshua, Shelby, Alli and Emma. Neva also leaves a nephew, two nieces and cousins. Shorty also leaves a sister, Ruby (Irvin) Sharpley of Denver, CO and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Neva was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Al Henderson; and brothers, David and Lyndon Lockrem. Shorty was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Eva in 1975; and brothers, Howard "Dutch", Walter "Joe", Rueben and Leroy. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 8 from 4-8 p.m. at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 9 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation from 10-11 a.m., at First English Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls. Interment will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Randolph, where military honors will be presented for Shorty. Active pallbearers for Neva will be Ezequiel Beltran, Carl and Lee Lockrem, Daniel and Diane Schmidt, and Wayne Tapper.

Active pallbearers for Shorty will be Mike Schaffer, Joshua Tupa, Justin Wenstad, Cameron Erickson, James Tupa and Kevin Scott.
