Growing up in Keystone SD at the foothills of Mount Rushmore, he quickly evolved into an active, intelligent boy, full of life and mischievous antics.

After graduating from Cannon City High School Pat continued his studies at Creighton University in Omaha Nebraska graduating with a Biology Degree While at Creighton he met the beautiful Elizabeth Ann McKeever. Not wanting her to get away he quickly proposed and they began their life together. They were happily married for 70 years, have six children, seven grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

After Creighton he was commissioned into the United States Army as a Second Lieutenant and completed training as a Ranger. He was well known in the community for bringing these worn furniture pieces back to life.
