Pearl Sathre

Pearl Marcella Sathre, age 95 of Northfield and formerly of Randolph, died on Saturday morning, February 4, 2012 at Three Links Care Center in Northfield. Pearl was born on February 16, 1916 in Kenyon, Minnesota to Nels and Ida Jacobson. She attended country school through the eighth grade and was confirmed at Holden Church near Kenyon. She married Ingvald "Nordeen" Sathre on December 16, 1939 at Holden Lutheran Church. They lived and farmed in the Kenyon, Dennison and Sogn areas from 1939 – 1947. They moved to Randolph in 1947 and later to Northfield in 2000. Pearl was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Randolph for many years and active in Circle. She enjoyed entertaining friends and relatives and working in her flower gardens. She loved music, especially playing the harmonica and piano. Her family was always close to her heart. She was greatly loved and will be dearly missed.

After nearly 62 years of marriage, her husband Nordeen died on September 19, 2011. Also preceding her in death were her parents, Nels and Ida Jacobson; infant son, Paul; sister, Eleanor Flom; brothers, Ossie, Sammy, Nick and Lawrence "Buddy" Jacobson; and a great-great grandchild, Elle Mae. She is survived by her children, Irving Nordeen "Dean" (Cindy) Sathre of Randolph, Betty (Ron) Taubman of Northfield, Robert (Durene) Sathre of Osakis, Barbara (Jerry) Ozmun of Apple Valley, and Patricia (Bruce) Gustafson of Stanton; 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren; sister-in-laws and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 6th, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls. There will also be visitation at the church from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. prior to the funeral services. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 7th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Randolph with Pastor Steven Schwartz officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeside Cemetery, Randolph. Pallbearers are granddaughters Beth Lindenfelser, Kimberly Babcock, Brenda Sathre, Amy Ozmun and Angie Cooreman, and godson William "Bill" Flom. Honorary pallbearers are Lisa Podritz, Sandi Kapsner, Travas Richardson, Greg Taubman, Troy Taubman, Michael Sathre, Paul Ozmun, and Brett Gustafson.
