Ralph Lewis Johnston, Jr., age 78, of Moorcroft, Wyoming, formerly of Dennison, passed into the arms of our loving God on September 17, 2023 at Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, South Dakota.
Ralph was born on April 17, 1 945 in Northfield to Ralph and Jeanette (Duncan) Johnston. He graduated from Randolph High School class of 1963. After graduation, he entered the Army Reserve, training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He spent his working career in the glass container industry, working and raising his family in Indiana, California, and Minnesota. He settled in Cleveland, where he met his wife Mary, and later retired from the Ardagh Group in 2013.
After retirement, Ralph and Mary enjoyed their lake home in Cleveland, MN, later moving to Florence, AZ for several years before moving to Moorcroft, WY. Ralph enjoyed tinkering in his garage, restoring cars, traveling, visiting with family and friends, and church fellowship.
Ralph is survived by his wife of 11 years, Mary (Jensen); children, Jeff (Renae), Brett (Laura), and Laura (Rick) Ralph; and grandchildren, Alec, Elijah, Micah and Eliana Johnston, and Talon, Toree and Bailey Ralph. He is also survived by siblings, Betty Lee, Marge Berendt, and David (Margaret) Johnston; brother-in-law, Calvin Thielbar; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Janet Thielbar; brother, John; and brothers-in-law, Bob Lee and John Berendt.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 5 at 3:00 pm at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls, with Pastor Shelly Olsen officiating. You may greet the family from 1:00 – 3:00 pm. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Hampton. Ralph's memorial service will be live streamed and may be viewed by clicking the link below.
