Robin Lynn Nelson, age 63 of Cannon Falls, died on Wednesday evening, April 29, 2026, surrounded by family at Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
Robin was born on October 7, 1962, in Minneapolis, the daughter of Desmond and Jeanne (Cook) Zahn and grew up in Columbia Heights. She worked at Carlson Companies and American Express Financial Services in Marketing Communications prior to raising her children at home. Later she worked in the office at Cannon Falls High School for many years.
She married Randall Nelson on October 14, 1994, in Blaine. They raised three children together. Robin was a member of the First English Lutheran Church community and was active with the Cannon Falls Food Shelf and Cannon Falls Education Foundation.
She enjoyed wintering in Casa Grande, Arizona with many friends, staying active in the women’s golf club and afternoon golf cart rides with her husband. She enjoyed reading, using her creative side through crafting, hanging out with friends and family and playing games. Most importantly, as a devoted Grandma, she loved spending time with her grandsons and singing them nursery rhymes (Facetime when apart from them in Arizona).
She is survived by her husband of over 31 years, Randall; children, Thomas of Minneapolis, Anna (Brady) Rose of Mankato, and Bethany Nelson of Minneapolis; two grandsons, Parker and Beckett Rose; sisters, Rhonda (John) Norman of Inver Grove Heights and Cynthia (Heath) Swanson of Savannah, Georgia; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Curtis (Eileen) Nelson of Watertown and Lloyd (Cecile) Nelson of Robbinsdale; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and parents-in-law, Rev. Allen and Vera Erickson.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 5 from 4-7 pm at First English Lutheran Church, 511 W. Belle St., Cannon Falls. A memorial service will be on Wednesday, May 6 at 11 am, with visitation from 10-11 am, at First English Lutheran Church. Memorials may be given in Robin's memory to First English Lutheran Church or Blood Cancer United (previously known as The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.)
