Roger Leroy Anderson, age 91 of Goodhue, died unexpectedly at home on Saturday, April 4, 2026.
Roger was born at home in Leon Township on August 6, 1934 , the oldest of eleven children born to Delmor O. and Ruth (Sjoblom) Anderson. He graduated from Cannon Falls High School in 1952.
On June 30, 1956, he was united in marriage to Audrey D. Johnson at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Red Wing. They lived in Burnside for two years after their marriage until buying their farm in Vasa Township. They were members of Spring Garden Lutheran Church, and raised four children together. He farmed most of his life, and he and Audrey raised beef cattle and chickens. He proudly worked for Vasa Township, retiring after 40+ years. He loved spending time with family, and especially enjoyed hunting and getting together with his brothers.
He is survived by his children, Rebecca (Kilb) Norgaard, Scott (Laurie) Anderson, Penny (Gary) Spillman, and Debby (Lori Lundell) Anderson; five grandchildren, Chad (Ashley Madriz) Hillman, Kelly (Lucas) Kramer, Douglas (Rachel) Spillman, Anne (Matthew) Shoemaker, and Michael (Cady) Spillman; twelve great-grandchildren, Dylan and Carly Hillman, Ryan, Ethan, and Nolan Kramer, Regan Spillman, Henry, Lorelai, Abbigail, and Benjamin Shoemaker, Everett and Hadley Spillman; siblings, Joan (James) Freking, Elroy (Bobbi), Gary (Linda), Danny (Vicki), Charlene Kleinschmidt, Marshall (Wendy Volk), Cheryl (Ron) Grote, Randall (Sue), and Joel (Marilyn); sister-in-law, Doris Anderson; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Audrey on October 14, 2016; brother, Norman; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Brant Erickson, Tony Kleinschmidt, LaVerne and Darlene Johnson; and friend, Eleanor Holt.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 10 from 4-7 pm at Lundberg Funeral Home, Cannon Falls. A funeral service will be on Saturday, April 11 at 11 am, with visitation from 10-11 am, at Spring Garden Lutheran Church. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
Active casket bearers will be Chad Hillman, Lucas Kramer, Douglas Spillman, Matthew Shoemaker, Michael Spillman, and Dylan Hillman.
Memorials may be given to donor's choice.
